People often ask why Sally started Munch Bars. They get a short answer: “I was hungry!” But there is more to her story…
Sally started baking and cooking after discovering the life-changing effects of gluten free and clean eating. After nearly 20 years of feeling ‘not quite right’ she finally had energy and realized- “this is what healthy feels like!” Sally was on a mission to share this energy with the world. She quit her government job and went to cooking school in New York City. This munch bar recipe was the fresh, gluten free, energy snack that fueled her commute and long days in the kitchen! “I couldn’t find anything out there with all the simple ingredients you’d use at home. And vegan allows everyone to enjoy them!”
Fast forward ten years … tens of thousands of bars have sold in farmers markets, local health food stores and vegan food festivals. Sally closed her commercial kitchen and certified her home kitchen. “I’ve revamped my business to be home with my babies!” Her daughter Zoe is 2 years old and loves the Maple Walnut ‘cookies’. Baby sister is on the way this spring!
